Print A3 - Deconstruct 39

€28.00

Deconstruct is a series inspired by the Brutalist architecture of the Ulster Museum in Belfast, taking shapes and forms from architect Francis Pym’s cubist concrete structure.

Drawings of the building are translated into shapes then collaged, reconfigured in different ways. The layering of various viewpoints of this mid-century modernist building makes new abstract compositions. The collages incorporate cardboard from discarded packaging. This card stock is excellent for collaging with its variety of tones and textures. The fold lines & glue marks on the card are integrated in to works as they echo the construction lines and ageing process of Pym’s concrete statement.

These A3 posters are made by scanning the collages and layering them in Photoshop to create a brand new piece of work. An open edition, titled and signed on the front by the artist. Printed in England on 324gsm eggshell white card (29.7cm x 42cm).
